Lectures
Lectures were held in the following institutions:
Valera and Natasha Cherkashin are contemporary artists working with photography, video, digital art, making installations and happenings spanning multiple disciplines. Most recently, their work has been covering issues from fields such as world economics, politics and the environment. They have been working together for over 35 years.
The Cherkashins participated in a number of international art fairs and biennales. Some of the most notable include the AIPAD Photography Show in NY, XVII Encuentros Abiertos Festival De La Luz in Argentina, FotoFest 2012 Biennial in Houston and PhotoEspana in Madrid among others. Among the museums which had acquired their works are the Art Institute of Chicago, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Philadelphia Museum of Art and Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Additionally, their works have been exhibited at numerous prestigious institutions and museums around the world. In 1999, The Cherkashins organized several unique underwater exhibitions at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC, and at the Olympia Stadium swimming pool in Berlin as well as Underground Wedding in Moscow metro station. Valera and Natasha currently live and work in Moscow and New York and travel around the world presenting their art and talking about the different stages of the development and evolutions in contemporary art through the prism of their numerous years of experience. They lectured at Harvard University, University of California, Berkeley, Princeton University, Columbia University, NYU, the School of Visual Arts in NYC among others.
